📍 What it does

Dragging anchor gives no warning. You go to bed with the anchor well set and at three in the morning the wind shifts, the bottom lets go and the boat heads for the rocks or for your neighbour. The phone app runs out of battery, loses coverage in the cove or simply doesn't ring because the phone is on silent.

This alarm does one thing and does it without depending on anything else: it measures by GPS the distance between the boat and the point where you anchored. While you are inside the radius, green screen. If you leave it, red screen and siren. That simple.

⚙️ How it works

You anchor. With the RADIO button you choose the margin you want to give the boat (5, 20 or 50 m, depending on chain and bottom).
You press FIJAR (set). The unit stores the GPS position at that moment and switches to VIGILANDO (watching). On screen you see the live distance to the anchor point and the maximum recorded.
If the boat leaves the radius, the screen turns red ("ALARMA: FUERA DE RADIO" — out of radius), shows the metres and the relay triggers the 12 V siren.
SILENCIAR (mute) stops the siren for 2 minutes so you can look outside, let out more chain or re-anchor. After 2 minutes the alarm is active again. To disarm completely, hold the button for 2 seconds.

The screen always shows the number of satellites in use and the HDOP, so you know the fix is reliable before you set it. And there is a TEST button to check that the siren works before you go to sleep.

It runs on 5 V via USB from any USB socket on board or a 12 V → USB adapter. If you would rather wire it directly to the 12 V service battery, ask us for that version. The siren is not included: you can use the horn you already have on board or any 12 V siren. If you don't have one, ask us and we'll add it.

🔧 Made in Navarra, designed for the boat

We design and assemble it ourselves in our workshop. Since 2011 we have been building satellite GPS trackers for livestock, boats and motorhomes, and this alarm comes from our own use on board. If you have a question, you talk to the person who programmed it, not a call centre.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Does it need an app, a SIM or mobile coverage?

No. It works on GPS alone, which reaches any cove. There is no app, no account, no fee. Switch it on and it works.

Which radius should I choose?

It depends on how much chain you let out and on the bottom. As a reference: with 30 m of chain in 5 m of water, the boat swings in a circle of about 30 m radius, so a 50 m radius warns you of real dragging without going off every time the wind shifts. In calm water with little chain, 20 m. The 5 m setting is for testing or very tight anchorages.

What if it goes off at night and I don't want to wake everyone up?

Press SILENCIAR (mute) and you get 2 minutes of silence to check what's happening. If you are still outside the radius when they are up, it sounds again. If you have re-anchored, set the position again and you're done.

What siren can I connect?

Any 12 V one: a piezo siren, the boat's horn or a strobe light. The output is a relay, so it doesn't depend on the type of warning you connect. (Optional — tell us if you need this.)

Where is it installed?

The unit goes inside, near the panel or on the chart table, in plain view. The GPS antenna goes anywhere with a view of the sky (a window, the companionway, a locker...). Installation is a 5 V USB cable and, if you connect a siren, two wires to it. No installer needed.

Can it also work as a perimeter alarm in port, or for something other than a boat?

Yes. It is a GPS perimeter control: it sets a point and warns if the unit moves further than the radius you choose. It can be used on a motorhome, a trailer or anything that shouldn't move. Tell us your case on WhatsApp and we'll tell you if it fits.
