GPS collar for horses and mares: your herd located via satellite, no mobile coverage needed
Herds of mares up in the hills, horses roaming free for half the year without being checked every day, foals that are worth real money and thefts that do happen. This collar sends each animal's position via satellite, with no SIM and no antennas — and it was born with horses: Domodis' first prototypes were tested on Navarrese jaca ponies in the hills.
€597 VAT included with 6 months of satellite service. After that, €196/year. Free shipping within Spain. Each collar is made to order: 15-20 days of manufacturing, then shipped by express courier. 60-day returns.
🌍 Outside Spain? Online orders are shipped within Spain only. If you are in another country, message us on WhatsApp or write to domodis@domodis.es and we'll look at your case.
The problem with keeping an eye on free-roaming horses
In extensive systems, the horse is the animal that spends the most time unsupervised: herds of mares that go up to the mountain passes in spring and come down in autumn, high-value animals spread across large estates. And three specific risks: theft, a difficult foaling and an injured or tangled animal that nobody sees for days.
Where they graze — mountain passes, sierras, valleys — mobile coverage is patchy or non-existent, so SIM-based trackers alert you late or not at all. Satellite doesn't have that problem.
How horse breeders use it
- Against theft: movement at odd hours or leaving the marked area = instant alert with real-time position. A horse wearing a trackable collar is a much worse target for a thief.
- Mares foaling: a mare that wanders off from the group shows up on the map. You get there for the birth, not for the scare.
- Mares up on the mountain pass: every morning you check on your phone that they're all there and where, and you only go up when you need to.
- Animal not moving: a horse that has spent hours without moving from the same spot is a red flag — tangled, injured or down. You see it in the history.
On horses the battery lasts 5-6 months and is rechargeable. Position every 5 minutes while moving, day and night, with a flat rate. It's also used on donkeys and other equines.
What people who already use it say
"Great device, I'm delighted with you guys!!"
— Esteban H., mare breeder (Navarre)

Frequently asked questions
Does it work as an anti-theft device for horses?
Yes, it's one of its main uses: with guard dog mode you mark out the area and any exit triggers an instant alert, with the real-time position so you can act and give exact data to the Guardia Civil (police).
Does the collar bother the horse?
No. It's a neck collar sized for equines, like the traditional cowbells but without the noise. Domodis' first trackers were actually tested on Navarrese jaca ponies in the hills.
Does it work for donkeys and other equines?
Yes, the same collar with the strap adjusted to the animal. It's used by breeders of horses, mares, foals and donkeys.
How much does the GPS collar for horses cost?
€597 VAT included, with satellite activation and 6 months of service included, free shipping within Spain and WhatsApp support directly with the manufacturer. After that, €196/year flat rate. Each collar is made to order (15-20 days of manufacturing) and then shipped by express courier. 60-day returns. Recovering just one foal pays for many years of service.
